Florent Atem Slide Picking Exercise

Florent Atem:

Florent Atem's second video about his signature "Slide Picking" technique, further illustrating the possibilities offered by this unconventional approach.

"My first video about Slide Picking was meant to introduce the concept of sliding the pick across the strings while pressing them against the fretboard to produce notes. In the new video, I wanted to execute a whole piece entirely based on this technique, which would not only provide great exercises to help others get familiar with this unusual approach but also, hopefully, show that Slide Picking is much more than a mere "trick" or "effect" and can be used in a musical and exciting way."

Hey guys and welcome to May's free lessons. For all the TABS go to: -

http://www.tomquayle.co.uk/resourcestips.html

This lesson is on enhancing basic II-V-I progressions using a more 'fusionistic' approach. It's very simple and uses nothing but major scale harmony so no scary melodic minor scales/chord required. This is a great way of making your II-V-I's sound more modern and fusion!

Hope you enjoy!

Tom

Steve Lukather Master Session

Uploader:
"The Steve Lukather Master Session (a volume in the Star Licks guitar video-tutor series), made in 1984 after the release of the fifth Toto album Isolation, is the only instructional Lukather video. It's a great tutorial, not only for (future) guitarists but also for those Lukather fans who frequently asked themselves 'how the hell did he do it'.
After a one minute show-case intro, Lukather demonstrates his equipment (Mesa Boogie) and guitar (custom made by Valley Arts) at that time.
In the heart of the video Lukather tutors (once slowly and once at regular speed) the solo's from nine songs. Meanwhile he reveals his personal tips on techniques like double-picking, speed picking, wang bar effects, chromaticism, bending, position shifting, false harmonics, travelling scales and melodic phrasing, all merged into the final solo of this video."

Rock, Blues, and Metal Guitar Licks

Doug Marks:

"30 years in the making, two and a half years in revision, ladies and gentlemen I bring you "Classic Licks." It's been an epic journey.

I'm Doug Marks with Metal Method Instructional videos. When creating my guitar lessons I always set a deadline for lesson completion. Otherwise, I can take forever on a project. The reason is, no matter how long I work on something it's never perfect and there's always room for improvement. So, without a deadline I can continue working on a project forever. This is my fourth revision of Classic Licks over the past thirty years and I really wanted to get it right this time. So, for the first time ever I chose not to set a deadline. Now, two and a half years later it's complete! Eventually I did set a deadline or I would still be making changes.

SURABAYA BAND FEST

U9 Evolusi Ungu 5, Terungkap Sudah!

Tepatnya 10 tahun silam ketika saya masih aktif menjadi pemburu festival, nama Ungu 5 mulai sering saya dengar.

Album mereka, The Champion Of “All Indonesian Rock Festival IX (2001), yang dirilis Juni 2004 membuat mereka kemudian dikenal begitu luas. Walau nama mereka tak sebesar Power Metal atau God Bless, di akhir 2005 an mereka menjadi begitu melegenda setelah tiba-tiba menghilang tanpa kabar.

Fred Brum - Our Dying World Solo (Feared)

Fred Brum:

"So Ola sent me an email last Friday, in true "Help us, Shred-wan Kenobi, you're our only hope!" fashion. Considering how pro-Sith I am, I let him rot there. The end.

Jokes aside, Ola asked me to do the solo for the song Our Dying World as he just released a completely remade version of his 2007 Feared album (which happens to kick ass, so go get it at http://www.fearedband.com), which I gladly said yes to, and here it is! :)

Guitar is a Sherman 8-string, fitted with DiMarzio D Activator 8 and PAF 8 pickups, although only the PAF 8 is used on this clip. Signal chain was, unsurprisingly, guitar into Kemper Profiling Amp into Presonus 22SVL.

Hope you enjoy! :)"
